CONGRATULATIONS DREW!!

It is confirmed Drew has made Scotland’s 2 Man Skeet Team for the Commonwealth Games, Dehli in October. This is Drew’s first Commonwealth Games, after he just missed out on the last games. He will be shooting alongside Ian Marsden who won the Commonwealth Gold 20 years ago & also carried the flag at the opening ceremony of the last games, this will be Ian’s 7th games so I’m sure he will keep Drew right!! We will keep you up to date of their progress in Dehli of how they get on. Watch this space.................

The Shooting Industry Awards 2010

We recently put ourselves forward for The Shooting Industry Awards under the category ‘Best Shooting Ground’. We are pleased to say that we were shortlisted to the last four. Unfortunately we didn’t win, but according to the judges “the quality of entries in this category was both remarkable & impressive..... any one of the shortlisted grounds could’ve won it”. We were the only Scottish ground in the top 4, so we are very proud of this.

Ladies Day 2010

This year’s Ladies Day was a great success with 135 ladies attending, who all thoroughly enjoyed the day, so much so some have already booked for next year’s event. Our brave instructors had the challenge of teaching them, with about 90% being beginners, they had there work cut out, but there was much hilarity & cheering from all the groups. This year’s chosen charity was The Brae - Dundee Riding Ability Centre, which is a very worthwhile cause.

The weather was lovely, which made the day more enjoyable. Each lady received a goodie bag, which included goodies from L’Oreal, BASC, Partylite, Wicked Chocolate Company and many more. There was also a raffle, silent & main auction. One of the many main auction prizes was ‘A day at the Nick Nairn Cook School for 2 people’ which seemed to be very popular with the ladies, also ‘Champagne Makeover & 3 Course Lunch for 2 at Harvey Nichols’. The Pear Tree Restaurant was also on hand to provide a superb lunch & keep everyone watered during the day.

The total raised from the Ladies Day was £3085 which was £500 more than last year - so I was pleasantly chuffed!
